Gallery at 48 Natoma

The Gallery at 48 Natoma in Folsom is excited to announce the next exhibit, What Came First? The exhibit run March 16 to May 3, 2018.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” in this whimsical new exhibit. Loretta Armstrong will show a series of imaginative chicken and rooster oil paintings, Karen Hunziker will display mixed-media drawings and paintings of chickens and Ukranian eggs, and Teresa Mihalko Harbert will exhibit beautiful Pysanky painted eggs.

The Community Gallery at 48 Natoma features a display of photographs by members of the FolPho Photography Club.

Gallery Hours: Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Tue-Wed evenings, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Classes at the Folsom Art Center at 48 Natoma

Printmaking Open Studio at the Folsom Art Center at 48 Natoma * every Tuesday from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. This new open studio is for artists age 18+ with previous printmaking and printing press experience. Bring your own supplies and enjoy working on your craft and sharing ideas with other artists. The open studio takes place every Tuesday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the 48 Natoma Art Center; drop-in fee is $10/day.

Painting Open Studio at the Folsom Art Center at 48 Natoma * every Wednesday from 9:00 am to 12 noon * or * Friday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Why paint alone. Join us for open studio – all levels welcome.  Drop in fee is $10/day. For FAA Members, the fee is $5/day.

Join Jeanine for paper marbling and paper painting using easy to obtain household materials and acrylic paint. Find out how shaving cream, cornstarch, bubbles and nail polish provide a means of artistic expression. Learn several fun and unusual ways to create marbled and painted papers. Mini Workshop at the Folsom Art Center at 48 Natoma

It’s About Color! * Reflected Color for any Painting Media – Saturday, March 10, 2018 – 9:00 am to 12:00 pm with Jenny Briggs

Jenny will demonstrate how to use reflected color, which she calls “Color-Bouncing,” to create more colorful and interesting paintings. She will use her “White Mug Alla Prima Demo,” creating a small painting while discussing how colors reflect on each other. Jenny will discuss her method for color mixing using a limited palette. Students may then either create their own painting using Jenny’s “White Mug” technique or try out what they just learned on a painting already in progress. Click to register (Activity #111853).
