Marilyn Rose – Color Mixing 101

Join us on Tuesday, March 20, for Marilyn Rose’s “Color Mixing 101” art demo.

Color Mixing 101 – a basic method Marilyn developed to potentially mix at least 288 hues from 5 colors plus white. It’s a fun demo where most people say they’ve never received that kind of color training before.

Marilyn Rose has been an artist all her life. She began with evening classes at Sierra College in drawing, painting, design and life drawing, and then went on to study with local artists Juan Pena and Susan Sarback, among others. Marilyn’s education expanded to include classes and workshops with nationally known artists such as Ray Roberts, Brian Blood and Gil Dellinger. She continues to study with known portrait, figure and still life masters like Craig Nelson, Michael Siegel and Dennis Perrin.

An avid plein air painter for over 15 years, Marilyn painted primarily landscape until she embarked on a series of still lifes. She has returned to her original study of portrait painting and she specializes in portraits of musicians as they play.

Teaching is another passion for Marilyn, having taught at the School of Light and Color as well as other venues. For the past five years, Marilyn has taught oil and acrylic painting classes in Sun City Lincoln Hills, where she lives with her husband of 42 years.

Her message to the world is a lesson life has taught her — “Shine Your Light” — find and develop your own creative passion, and share it with the world.
