ARTIST STATEMENT: My career has been in the field of graphic design, but art is where my passion lies. Currently in the design field, I decided to pursue my passion for painting in 2011. I would explain my work as spontaneous, abstract, chaotic harmony. It is a visual attempt to capture the essence of a time, emotion or experience. A disconnect from the direct, free from aesthetic rules of right or wrong. My goal is to create a sense of mystery and wonder within reality. My communication with each painting is an attempt to find within the layered strokes, harmony, peace, and closure, not only within each painting, but also within my inner soul. It is a constant quest in search of improvement and discovering the unknown. Diane O’Leary |
