Barbara Otey

Barbara OteyInspired by artists in the “Land of Enchantment,” Barbara began painting in the early-90’s with Dorothy Vorhees, a renowned Albuquerque artist and teacher, and later with Sheila Savannah, of Prescott, Arizona. Her work emphasizing flowers draws heavily on memories of her youth in Memphis, Tennessee and young adulthood in New Orleans, Louisiana. Since moving to Folsom in 1998, she has expanded her work to landscapes, and an occasional still-life.

Currently, Barbara is hosting workshops for nationally and internationally renowned watercolor artists. Being established in the art world, I have been able to bring many renowned artists into the Sacramento and the Sierra Foothills.
