Dear Members and Friends,

We reflect back on 2017 and marvel at how fast it has passed and hope that you and yours had a wonderful, healthy and safe holiday season.

2017 was a kaleidoscope of art activities from bus trips to see world class exhibits at the DeYoung and Legion of Honor museums, monthly artist demos from the likes of Terry Muira, Jim Marxen, and Phil McDonel, capped off with a catered Christmas party and live music. In addition, Folsom Arts Association coordinated workshops featuring David Lobenberg and Ned Mueller. 2018 promises to bring even more opportunities for artists and art aficionados that you won’t want to miss.

Our mission statement is to support the arts in our community and we have worked hard to that end. Folsom Arts Association gave generous support to the Johnny Cash Art Trail Project, we sponsor, coordinate and hang the Folsom Focus Photography contest each year for amateur photographers, host gallery receptions in the main gallery of 48 Natoma, offer quarterly Art Camps at Folsom Lake College and coordinate mini workshops on the second Saturday of each month also at 48 Natoma. We encourage and welcome artists of all different skill levels to participate in the many activities offered and hope that you will find new inspiration, new friends and above all fun!

The FAA continues its history of giving back to the community both locally and abroad. Over the years, the FAA has volunteered countless hours and donated over $21,210 in funds and material goods to many worthy organizations. Organizations supported in 2017 include:

Folsom History Museum
City of Folsom, Folsom Art Walk (Johnny Cash Trail)
Carol Newland Memorial, American Lung Association
Chuck Harrison Memorial
Murer House Foundation

Thank you to everyone who has made the Folsom Arts Association what it is today. We hope you’ve enjoyed the creative success in 2017 and that we, as an organization, will continue to grow in 2018.

Our members are our best asset – we thank you!
